Rep. Jim Jordan fell short in his bid to become the next speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. In the first round of voting, Jordan received 200 votes, while 232 lawmakers voted for other candidates. He needs 217 votes to win, and can only afford to have four fellow Republicans vote against him. All 212 Democrats voted for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
